White Volksvagen drowning in milk

A white Wolksvaken drowning in milk is part of the three piece installation of the artist Ivan Puig. The meaning? Let's dive into that.

Ivan Puig is a multidisciplinary artist born in Mexico. He studied electronics and arts in his country, Spain and Canada. He composes his works with cristicism and humour, always focusing on social matters. His main motif, art installations, are fabricated with simple objects. That ads to the "intellectualized" approach to art, which is a strong trend nowadays.

Ivan's works usually are briefly described with the title itself. This work from 2004 aims to reflect on the proportions of events and their relativity. The title can be trasnslated as "Up the Nose" or "Fed Up" . A nice car drowning in a milk pool immerses you into a mistify state. And the feeling gets stronger and stronger. Why? Because of the magnitude of the elements used. A glass of milk can easily be picked up, while a car requires a significant amount of energy. You then proceed to ask yourself how and why did it happen. The second piece of the trilogy eases you: it is only a toy drowning in a glass of milk. It's fine, nobody was hurt.

Everything can be brought into question, the possibility of a single meaning no longer exists.
